Disney's Once Upon a Halloween

'Tis the eve of Halloween. Here, we join the Evil Queen. You may know her from Snow White. She wants to take over on Halloween night!

In this special made by Disney, the Evil Queen is back with dreams of world domination! So, mere hours before Halloween, she goes to her magic cauldron for advice. She wants a partner in crime, a villain or two to help her seize her moment! Luckily, this cauldron knows all about Disney villains and shows her a few key baddies of Disney's vast past.

This is a very creative special, giving a simple yet decent story/reason for showing various clips involving Disney villains. A lot of favorites are given the spotlight, including Ursula, the Horned King, and the very first Disney villain, Peg Leg Pete! They also have various music videos that showcase villainous aspects, such as the henchmen, the evil laugh, and even one for the Disney villain deaths. My favorite thing is that we never see the Queen outside of the clips. We only see her shadow. It gives her a mysterious feeling (even if they just didn't have enough money to show her).

This is definitely a good little film for anyone interested in Disney villains. Plus, it delves into some of the newer villains. If you're curious on how they can make a good villainous clip show, this is a must watch!

I don't know how long it will be up, but here's the first part of the special. If you have an hour to kill, go ahead and give it a watch!

Welcome to Your Nightmares!

Greetings, fellow fans of freaks and fiends! Welcome to the Den of Pure Evil! Here in the Den, we discuss those evil entities, those brutish bad guys, those villains in every story that would stop at nothing to get their way. This site is a tribute to all things villainous!

In every article I write, I will be looking at one of three things: 1) First and most obvious, I'll be putting the spotlight on a villain, sometimes looking at what makes them tick, sometimes just talking about what I find cool about them; 2) I will talk about generic aspects of villains and why they either always work or never work (such as the evil laugh, the evil lair, the complicated plan, etc.); 3) I will make a Top 10 list of the best/worst of a type of villain, best/worst of evil plans, etc.

In the sake of total disclosure, readers might as well know that this blog was created as a project for a class. I will, however, definitely continue to update it after the project is due. I just love talking about villains that much!

So, stick around, if you dare! The villainous underbelly of all your favorite stories is about to be exposed...

(PS, if you are my professor for this class reading this blog, know that I do not consider this entry part of the 5 required entries. I just thought it would be a decent idea to make an introduction blog stating my purpose. From here on out, I will do proper blogs.)
